New Kent’s Lamprecht, Gilbride compete at cross-country state championship

New Kent freshman Isaac Lamprecht clocked a time of 17:44.60 to finish in 36th place at the Group 3A State cross-country championship on Apr. 21 at Green Hill Park in Salem.

Lamprecht was among 67 runners who took the course in the boys’ portion of the competition. He qualified as an individual at the Group 3A Region A championship.

In the girls’ competition, junior Rosemarie Gilbride registered a time of 21:56.60 to finish 40th in the Group 3A State cross-country championship. She also participated in the meet as one of the wildcard entries who qualified as an individual participant at the Group 3A Region A championship.
