Baker named Group 3A Region A player of the year, five named to first team; Burnett tabbed Coach of the Year

New Kent High School Lady Trojan volleyball setter Haley Baker has been named the Group 3A Region A Player of the Year.

Baker highlighted five Lady Trojans who received first-team accolades on the all-region team. Joining Baker are middle blocker Julia Hathaway, outside hitter Aubrey Hyndshaw, middle blocker Jaiden McCoy, and libero Andrea Sorensen.

Three New Kent players were also named to the region’s second-team. Defensive specialist Clara Foster, outside hitter Darian Mason, and defensive specialist Lauren Vick were highlighted as part of the team.

New Kent Lady Trojan head coach Cynthia Burnett was named the Group 3A Region A Coach of the Year, respectively.
