Charles City’s Smith, Williams each garner two wins at Middlesex track meet

Charles City’s D’Angelo Smith and Lady Panther Alexis Williams garnered two wins apiece during Tuesday afternoon’s track meet at Middlesex.

Smith claimed victories in the high jump (5’9”) and the 400-meter dash (55.72) to lead the Panthers to 27 points and a third-place finish at the meet. Host Middlesex won the meet with 81 points, followed by runner-up Lancaster who accumulated 60 points. King & Queen rounded out the scoring with 17 points at the meet.

For the Lady Panthers, Williams earned wins in the 100-meter dash (13.92) and the 200-meter dash (30.30). She added second place finishes in the girls’ shot (23’8”) and girls’ discus (61’11”).

Williams, who is the lone Lady Panther on the team, scored 20 points to finish in fourth place at the meet. Lancaster won the girls’ portion with 62 points, with Middlesex finishing in second with 44 points, and King & Queen posting 30 points to finish in third.
