Charles City Lady Panthers finish as runners-up in Tidewater District Championship meet
Charles City’s Lady Panthers accumulated 116 points, finishing at the Tidewater District Outdoor Track & Field runners-up at the May 16 meet held on their home track.
Derequa Johnson emerged as a double-event winner at the competition. Johnson captured the pole vault title with a clearance of 7’0” and also won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 50.93. Teammate Jaida Braxton emerged as the other event winner for the Lady Panthers, winning the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.86.
Middlesex captured the Tidewater District championship with 185 points, while King William placed third with 78 points.
