It’s been a good week for a pair of New Kent County brothers who coach at the professional level. On June 14, Jamion Christian (left), a 2000 graduate of New Kent High School and Head Coach of Pallaacanestro Trieste in Italy, led his team to the Lega Nazioinale Pallanestro championship, resulting in the team’s promotion to the top league in the upcoming season. Just three days later, on June 17, younger brother Jarell Christian (right), a 2004 graduate of New Kent High School, won a NBA Championship as a member of the coaching staff for the Boston Celtics. Jarell serves as the General Manager of the Maine Celtics, a subsidiary of the Boston team that develops players for the next level and assists with their transition to the NBA.
