Tober named Class 3A State Player of the Year in softball; Rowe, White receive first team recognition

New Kent High School’s Hannah Tober has been selected as the Class 3A State Player of the Year in softball.

Bound for the University of Virginia, Tober, who was named to the Class 3A First Team at shortstop, batted .635 with 11 home runs, 13 doubles, and two triples. She notched 47 hits while being walked 18 times (with 11 of those times being intentional). She finished her career with the most doubles in VHSL history (54), 144 runs (seventh all-time), and 132 RBIs (ninth all-time).

Two more Lady Trojans received Class 3A First Team Honors. Second baseman Kenley Rowe and designated player Kendall White were also recognized as top players around the state. Making the Class 3A State Second Team were pitcher Abbie Kegley and outfielder Mariah Leonard.
