New Kent sheriff’s personnel have arrested several individuals in recent weeks on at least one felony charge each. According to sheriff’s office reports, those arrested and the charges they face are:

–William Lee Riley II, 49, of 1803 Womack Drive in Hampton, who is charged with one felony count each of attempting to assault a police officer, vandalism, and throwing an object at an occupied vehicle. Deputy Eric Benninger arrested Riley on Jan. 1 after receiving a complaint that the suspect was throwing a jacket at vehicles on Route 33 in Eltham. A woman identified as Riley’s sister told the deputy the suspect had vandalized their room at the nearby Washington Burgess Inn. Damage amounted to more than $1,000. Then while in custody at the sheriff’s office, Riley allegedly attempted to head butt Benninger as the deputy loosened the suspect’s handcuffs. Riley was being held on $15,000 bond;

–George Anthony Manolatos, 42, of 4795 Old Field Lane in Quinton, who is charged with two felony counts of abduction along with several misdemeanors including two counts of assault and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Manolatos was arrested on Dec. 30 after Deputy Joey McLaughlin stopped the suspect’s vehicle. The deputy discovered three juveniles passengers in the vehicle, a male and two females, had been drinking alcohol. Investigation revealed that the juveniles were at Manolatos’ home where he allegedly supplied them with beer, made unwanted advances toward the females, and blocked the females from leaving a bathroom inside the home. Manolatos was being held without bond. The three juveniles were charged with underage possession of alcohol;

–Sharon Winston Peterson, 58, of 6010 Golden Wheel Road, Providence Forge, who is charged with one felony count of cocaine possession. McLaughlin arrested Peterson on Dec. 24 after he allegedly observed the suspect attempting to conceal a crack pipe. She was being held on $5,000 bond;

–Michelle Marie Tebbenhoff, 46, of 7451 Patriot’s Landing Place in Quinton, who is charged with felony third offense driving under the influence. Deputy Jim Anthony arrested Tebbenhoff on Dec. 22 after arriving at the suspect’s residence to investigate a domestic assault complaint. The suspect, who allegedly was intoxicated, told Anthony her husband, William John Tebbenhoff, 50, had spanked her after she ran over their mailbox with their car. The husband verified the account, saying he did so to punish his wife for driving to pick up their son at work while she was drunk. He was arrested for misdemeanor domestic assault and an emergency protective order was issued. The husband was released on his own recognizance. The wife was being held without bond;

–Robert Martin Murphy, 20, of 4901 Waterside Drive in Lanexa, who is charged with one count each of felony vandalism and misdemeanor marijuana possession. Deputy Farrar Howard arrested Murphy on Dec. 22 after responding to the suspect’s residence on a call that the suspect was intoxicated and threatening to harm himself. The suspect allegedly damaged his parents’ residence. Murphy was being held on $2,500 bond.
