Lady Panthers win in track

Charles City’s Lady Panthers scored 83 points, edging Sussex’s 80, to capture first overall in a five-team track meet on April 29 on their home oval. Franklin scored 70 followed by Surry’s 57 and Chesterfield Community’s 35.

Charles City’s boys, meanwhile, finished second with 85 points to Sussex’s 105. Surry placed third with 67.5 while Franklin scored 26.5 and Chesterfield Community totaled 19.

Chiquita Black and Toni Harris tied for first in high jump (4-2) to register the lone individual event win for the Lady Panthers. The Panther boys produced three winners with Reynard Black claiming the 400 meters (57.0), Michael Jefferson winning high jump (5-10), and Kevin Wallace prevailing in long jump (19-6).
