CC receives septic pumpout grant

Charles City County has received grant money from the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation to pay for septic tank pump outs for 20 low to moderate homeowners who qualify.

Grant money can be applied only to households whose septic systems do not have problems. Virginia law requires septic system pump-out every five years.

Homeowners must supply information on household income, home address and ownership, who lives in the house, and the last time the septic system was pumped. Call Ms. Williams at 652-4707 to apply or report that your septic system has been pumped within the past five years.
