NK Fair 5K run sign-up on

Registration is under way for the New Kent County Fair 5K Run and Kids’ Fun Run, both set for 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18 on the dirt track at Colonial Downs.

Entry fee is $15 for the 5K. Male and female age divisions are 13-17, 18-24, 25-35, 36-44, and 45+. First place winners in each age group receive prizes ($15-$20 value) while prizes ($10-$15 value) go to runners-up.

The kids’ fun run is free. Male and female age groups are 11-12, 8-10, 5-7, and 4 and under. First place winners receive prizes ($10 value) while runners-up get prizes in the $5 value range. All receive a participation certificate.

Registration forms are available on the county’s web site co.new-kent.va.us or call 966-8502. Parents or guardians must sign for participants under age 18. Race day registration starts at 7 a.m.

A limited number of t-shirts are available for 5K entrants. Advance registration is recommended.
