Eudailey, Savage lead NK

Becca Eudailey finished seventh overall to lead New Kent’s Lady Trojans to fourth place in last Thursday’s Bay Rivers District cross country meet and a spot in this week’s Region I meet. Only the top four teams advance to the regional.

Eudailey toured the 3.1-mile William and Mary course in 21:03.7. Completing New Kent’s top five scoring spots were Kristy Galloway (21st, 22:27.8), Holly Sheffield (22nd, 22:38.7), Amber Owens (25th, 22:52.7), and Madie Miles (26th, 22:54.9). Danielle Holzhauser ran 23:47.7 (32nd) while Ariel Weimer placed 35th (24:16.2).

New Kent totaled 101 points, finishing well ahead of fifth place Tabb (144). Grafton won the meet with 39 followed by Jamestown and Lafayette, both with 53.

In the boys’ meet, Austin Savage led the New Kent contingent, placing 17th overall in 17:53. Anthony Snipes came in 19th (18:09) followed in scoring by Brandon Belcher (31st, 18:47), Kyle Mechling (39th, 19:02), and Chris Rolince (44th, 19:17). John Faircloth finished 49th (19:24) while Joe Giffin placed 68th (22:35).

The Trojans placed fifth overall with 150 points. Lafayette won the meet with 39.
