Zombies and other creatures have all gone back to their hiding places, not to be seen again until next October. But the spirit of a thrilling and unique haunt adventure lives on at Journey Trails.

New Kent’s largest haunt set an attendance record this year, entertaining people from all over Virginia as well as visitors from Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Canada, Puerto Rico and Hungary.

The response was almost always the same, “Awesome!” “Loved It!” But one comment summed it up best: “Great experience—scary—meaningful—thanks,” referencing that Journey Trails is a “truth-based” haunt with lots of hidden messages lurking beneath the surface scares.

Richmond’s Style Weekly magazine featured Journey Trails in an article entitled “Drag me to Heaven.”

Journey Trails, also acquired its second hearse, a 1972 Cadillac generously donated by enthusiasts.

“We don’t make a lot of money doing this” said Pastor Neil Lieder in a press release. “But through prayer and faith we usually meet our expenses and accomplish our mission—giving people what they want, as well as important information about what’s to come, and encouraging them, in a unique and creative way, to choose their destiny.”
