Charles City girl performs with ballet

Macie Glen DeLuke, a Charles City resident and kindergarten student at Surry Elementary School, will be appearing in the Concert Ballet of Virginia’s annual holiday production of the “Nutcracker.”

The first performance took place at Benedictine High School Nov. 26-28. High schools hosting upcoming performances are Goochland (Dec. 3-5), Monacan (Dec. 10-12), and Atlee (Dec. 17-19).

Macie, who is a dance student at Linda’s School of Dance program offered by New Kent Parks and Recreation, began rehearsals at the Concert Ballet’s studio in Ashland in early October. She is the daughter of Victor and Vanteen DeLuke and the granddaughter of Frank and Betty DeLuke and Macie and the late Hubert Johnson.
