Letter to the Editor: Thanks supporters for daughter’s experience in Senate Page program

As a proud parent of Africa Majestic Grooms, I would like to congratulate my daughter for successfully completing the Senate Page program as a member of the Class of 2015. She is the first African-American female in several years from Charles City County to participate in the program. Her class was the largest class in the history of the Senate Page program.

Furthermore, I would like to send a special thanks to all who contributed to making this once in a lifetime opportunity for my daughter possible. First of all, thanks to Dr. Brenda Petteway for her most dedicated undying administrative, moral, financial, and friendly support. Even though Dr. Petteway is dealing with personal issues, she continued to relinquish her committed support and effort to see my daughter through the Senate Page Program. I highly commend her support during her own time in need. Also, thanks to Mrs. Stephanie Henderson for lending her hand and skills to help accomplish this goal. In addition, I extend much gratitude to former Charles City superintendent of schools Dr. Janet Crawley for taking her precious time to attend Africa’s graduation from this profound Senate program. We love and appreciate them all.
