Burglary trio indicted in New Kent Circuit Court
Three men who allegedly burglarized homes in New Kent received multiple indictments during Monday morning proceedings in New Kent Circuit Court.
William Lawrence Paige, 52, of the 1300 block of Burma Court, Richmond; Benjamin Potter, 37, of the 9300 block of Horsecastle Court, Glen Allen; and James Tracy Thomas, 50, of the 3300 block of Meadowbridge Road, Richmond, allegedly robbed homes from January to February of this year. According to the indictments, at least four residences were burglarized. Items stolen include jewelry, a generator, power tools, an XBOX video game system, knives, firearms, and credit cards.
Paige is charged with four counts each of burglary, grand larceny, intent to sell stolen property, and conspiracy to commit larceny. Potter is charged with the same offenses as Paige, with one additional charge of credit card theft. Thomas is charged with one count each of burglary, grand larceny, intent to sell stolen property, conspiracy to commit burglary, and credit card theft.
Other indictments handed up by the grand jury name:
–Christopher Thomas Batkins, 22, of the 3600 block of Hopewell Road, New Kent, on one count of petty larceny (second offense). Batkins allegedly stole more than $200 in items from an ABC store last Dec. 4.
–Tremaine Lamont Hardy, 33, of the 1600 block of Thalia Crescent, Richmond, on four counts of burglary, four counts of grand larceny, and three counts of intent to sell stolen property. The indictments allege that between June 2014 and October 2014, Hardy stole jewelry, a computer, money, and a firearm from multiple New Kent residents and intended to sell the items for profit.
–Alison Aurelia Henderson, 28, of the 7700 block of North Franklin Way, Quinton, on one count of domestic assault and battery. Henderson is accused of allegedly assaulting Philip Langhorne on Jan. 9.
–Michael Leeton Moore, 29, of the 4500 block of Barnetts Road, Charles City, on one count of assault and battery on a police officer. The alleged offense occurred on Jan. 23, 2015.
–Mark Avery Sheppard, 27, of the 7600 block of Lady Blair Lane, North Chesterfield, on one count of credit card theft. The indictment alleges that the defendant stole a PayPal debit card belonging to Kimberly Harris last Aug. 4 and used it without her permission.
