173 years of service to New Kent Schools

Six ladies with a combined 204 years experience in education, with 173 of those years dedicated to New Kent Public Schools, were honored during a June 1 retirement reception at New Kent High School. Retirees are (l to r) Beryl Proeschel (12 years, George Watkins Elementary), Desilou Pettengill (35 years, New Kent Elementary), Gloria Johnson (25 years, New Kent Elementary), Cynthia Burnett (33 years, George Watkins Elementary), Patti Gulick (37 years, New Kent High), and Barbara Otey (31 years, New Kent School Board office).
