Chesterfield car accident claims life of New Kent woman

A New Kent woman was killed during a Saturday night accident in Chesterfield.

Shaniqua Brown, 23, died at the scene of a single-vehicle crash on June 20. According to the police report, Brown was a passenger in a Mercury Mountaineer traveling westbound on Hull Street before the vehicle veered off the road, striking a tree. Brown was transported to a hospital where she later died.

Brown attended and graduated from Charles City High School.

The driver of the vehicle remains in serious condition with life-threatening injuries, while a second passenger was transported with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
