Two arrested by New Kent Sheriff’s Office

New Kent Sheriff’s Office arrested two individuals for unrelated crimes according to an Aug. 11 press release.

–Rebecca M. English, 28, of the 11400 block of Greenyard Estates Way, Providence Forge, on one charge of grand larceny. According to the report, a wallet was accidently left by a customer at the Family Dollar in Providence Forge. Store management conducted an investigation and turned the information over to a New Kent deputy. English allegedly stole more than $200 from the wallet according to the warrant. English turned herself in and was released on a $2,500 unsecured bond.

–Michael D. Hobbs, 53, of the 2000 block of Philbunny Court, Mechanicsville, on one charge each of abduction and assault & battery. According to the arrest report, New Kent authorities determined there was sufficient probable cause to arrest Hobbs on the charges. He was taken to Henrico Jail East and was being held without bond.
