Three injured in Aug. 18 morning accident in New Kent

Three people were injured in an Aug. 18 morning accident in New Kent after a vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree.

According to Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Vick, shortly after 10 a.m. a 2013 Chevrolet Impala ran off the road traveling westbound Interstate 64 at exit 220 (West Point). The male driver and female passenger were transported to a local medical facility with serious injuries. A third passenger, a small child, was also transported to the same facility with non-life threatening injuries.

Cause of the crash is under investigation with possible charges pending.
