Driver killed on Route 60 in Providence Forge

A Providence Forge man is dead after a single-vehicle accident on Route 60 near Adkins Road in Providence Forge.

Howard “J.T.” Taylor III, 54, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. According to a Virginia State Police press release, Taylor was traveling eastbound on Route 60 just before 3 p.m. when the vehicle ran off the side of the road and struck a tree.

Cause of the accident remains under investigation. Virginia State Police say he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
