Alleged stabbing leads to indictment of Charles City man
A Charles City man who allegedly attacked his stepdaughter’s boyfriend has been indicted by a Charles City Circuit Court grand jury.
Todd Alfonzo Tabb, 52, of the 8900 block of Old Elam Cemetery Road, received an indictment on one count of malicious wounding. According to the indictment, Tabb allegedly stabbed Marcus Tyler during an Aug. 23, 2015 confrontation that escalated from a conversation. Tabb is currently being held without bond and is scheduled for a March 15 jury trial.
The grand jury also handed down indictments to the following individuals:
–Curtis William Cole Jr., 42, of the 5100 block of Old Union Road, Charles City, on 15 misdemeanor counts of violating a protective order. While incarcerated on numerous occasions, Cole allegedly called a person that he was ordered not to contact. Cole also faces additional charges stemming from earlier indictments and is scheduled to appear in court on March 1. He is currently undergoing a mental evaluation for competency to stand trial.
–Clifton Bruce Graham, 58, of the 1200 block of 25th Street, Newport News, on one count each of forgery of a public record, driving as a habitual offender, and misdemeanor use of false identification. On Nov. 6, 2015, Graham allegedly provided a deputy false information during a traffic stop
–Sayvon Alexander Knight, 21, of the 1200 block of Peck Road, North Chesterfield, on one count of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and misdemeanor resisting arrest. According to the indictment, Knight appeared intoxicated when questioned by an officer and after being detained, attempted to flee on Sept. 26, 2015. He allegedly possessed cocaine that was found after a pat-down by the officer.
–Gary Allen Lapean, 60, of the 9300 block of Barnetts Road, Charles City, on one count each of strangulation, misdemeanor reckless handling of a firearm, and misdemeanor assault and battery on a family member. On Sept. 26, 2015, Lapean allegedly confronted a family member in a physical altercation as he attempted to leave his home while carrying a firearm.
