Boards reorganize in Charles City, New Kent
Boards have reorganized in Charles City and New Kent for fiscal year 2016.
In New Kent, District 4 supervisor Ron Stiers has been elected chairman for the new year for the county’s board of supervisors. District 5 representative W.R. “Ray” Davis Jr. will serve as the board’s vice-chairman.
District 4 school board member Sarah Grier Barber has been re-elected to serve as chairwoman for New Kent. Gail Hardinge of District 5 has been tabbed as vice-chairwoman.
In Charles City, Floyd Miles Sr. of District 3 will take the reigns as chairman for the county’s board of supervisors. District 2 leader William “Bill” Coada will serve as the vice-chairman.
District 1 school board representative Helen Payne-Jones will serve a third consecutive term as chairwoman for Charles City’s school board. Martha “Mag” Harris of District 3 will serve her first term as vice-chairwoman of the school board.
