State trooper hit in New Kent

A Virginia State Trooper was hit in New Kent while assisting a disabled vehicle on Interstate 64.

According to a press release, around 7:30 p.m., Trooper M.D. Jester was helping a stranded motorist at mile marker 212 near the Talleysville exit when a car ran in the back of his police cruiser.

Jester was taken to a nearby medical facility and treated for minor injuries.
