H. Nick Waitman

H. Nick Waitman, 84, passed away on January 21, 2016.

He was born on July 6, 1931 and was a long time resident of Charles City, VA.

He served in the United State Marine Corp and earned degrees from Randolph Macon College and the College of William & Mary. Nick had a career in administration as the director of personnel at Virginia’s Department of Education. He spent many of his retirement years serving on the Charles City County School Board. Nick also loved to read, hunt, and fish.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Waitman; two sisters, Helen Wheeler and Phyllis Garrison; daughters Susan Williams (Bo), and Nicky Sulc (Jerry); son, Tom Waitman (Julie); six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were made by Nelsen Funeral Home of Richmond.
