Letter to the Editor: Says it’s time to clean up New Kent County

It’s time to clean up the county. Right now, our community is filthy. The litter that is accumulating alongside New Kent roadways is increasing daily. Some litter is within eyesight of resident’s mailboxes. Why is it not picked up? Ignoring litter is as bad as tossing it there.

New Kent is an extension of our homes. We should do our part and monitor our property and the areas adjacent to us.

Take a trash bag with you the next time you go to the mailbox or walk the dog. Pick up the litter along your property, your neighbor’s property, or even along an undeveloped stretch of roadway. Set aside one day a week or month to patrol a specific area for litter.

If we all work together, we will show our friends, families, and visitors a clean and beautiful New Kent County.
