NK Historical museum opens May 21

New Kent Historical Society’s Museum will have a grand opening on Saturday, May 21, 10 a.m.

Located at 11740 New Kent Highway, the public will have the opportunity to tour the building and exhibits.

The facility was originally a two-room school, believed to be built around 1870. Now owned by Corinth Baptist Church, the Historical Society was allowed the opportunity to preserve the building and create a museum of New Kent History.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. followed by tours until noon. Snacks and soda will be served while members of New Kent StageHands will interpret personalities from New Kent’s past.
