Hampton men indicted on alleged break-in attempts of Providence Forge businesses

Two Hampton men who allegedly attempted to break into two businesses in Providence Forge were indicted by a New Kent grand jury Monday morning.

Edward Earl Hardy, 54, of the 600 block of Michigan Drive, Apt. J, and Garrett Michael Jones, 41, of the 300 block of Winston Drive, Hampton, were each indicted on two charges of attempted burglary, and one charge each of conspiracy to commit burglary, possession of burglary tools, and felony destruction of property.

Last Feb. 25, New Kent Sheriff’s Office personnel were notified of suspicious activity at Forge Center in Providence Forge. The caller described the vehicle and one of the occupants, which deputies located leaving the parking lot of the business center. After the two suspects were detained, an inspection of the grounds revealed the Subway restaurant’s front doors had been forced open. Another business, Providence Forge Partners LLC, had its back door in the rear of the center pried open as well. Both men were subsequently arrested on the charges.

Eight other individuals were also indicted by the grand jury:

–Justin Earl Ball, 24, of the 13000 block of Stage Road, Lanexa, on a single count of firearm larceny. Ball allegedly stole a Smith and Wesson .38 belonging to Brandy Martin on Sept. 8, 2015.

–Conrad Joseph Clemente Jr., of Baltimore, Maryland, on one charge each of possession of a controlled substance (Adderal) and misdemeanor false identification to a law enforcement officer. According to the indictment, after an argument with his wife, Clemente began walking along Interstate 64 when he was noticed by a state trooper. After the trooper began to question him, a search revealed Clemente was in possession of two Adderal pills without a prescription. The alleged offense took place on Apr. 25.

–Thomas Lee Crute, 55, of the 4700 block of Cronin Drive, on a single charge of distribution of a controlled substance (heroin). Crute allegedly attempted to sell the substance on Apr. 7.

–Donald Joseph Damore Jr., 36, currently of Henrico Jail East, on three counts of assault on a law enforcement officer. Damore allegedly attacked three jail guards on June 15.

–Brian Matthew Harlow, 20, of the 5800 block of Deer Path Drive, New Kent, on two counts each of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine, Zanax), and misdemeanor entering into a vehicle, and one charge each of breaking and entering, entering a building to commit a felony, grand larceny (pickpocket), and misdemeanor petty larceny. The indictment alleges the defendant broke into the homes of Charles and Charity Dokos, and Deate Stamer, and stole a Cannon Energy Shot Camera, Bose Headphones, and USB thumb drives from Feb. 19-21.

–Ralph Lamar Matthews, 21, of the 9000 block of Higgins Road of Quinton, on one count each of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and manufacturing of a controlled substance (cocaine). The alleged offense took place on Feb. 19.

–Jimmar A. Payne, 23, of the 15000 block of Broadwater Circle, Chester, on a single count of distribution of marijuana (greater than ½ ounce and less than five ounces). The alleged offense took place on Mar. 8.

–Sarah Lynn Williams-House, 26, of the 11000 block of Pocahontas Trail, Apt. 2, Providence Forge, on one count each of possession of heroin and felony child abuse. Williams-House allegedly committed the child abuse offense on Feb. 27 and allegedly possessed heroin on Apr. 17.
