Seven Odyssey of the Mind teams from New Kent County schools are bound for state competition after winning championships in their respective divisions at the regional tournament held March 2 in New Kent. Three teams from New Kent Elementary School, two from New Kent High School, and one each from George Watkins Elementary School and New Kent Middle School head to state scheduled for April 13 at John Champe High School in Aldie (Loudoun County). Fifty-six teams from Fredericksburg, Louisa, Essex, Lancaster, Richmond County, King William, Middlesex, Spotsylvania, and New Kent school systems took part in the regional. Each team competed in one of six problem areas based on their division (elementary, middle, and high school).
