Breast cancer awareness

An eight-foot-tall display telling the story about how Charles City native Gail Thompson beat breast cancer will be on display during October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month) at various locations throughout Charles City and New Kent. Thompson’s story first appeared at King’s Dominion during the park’s “Pink Days” event. Thompson said the display should remind women to have regular checkups and mammograms.
