New Kent golf finishes fourth at state championships
New Kent High School’s golf team earned a fourth place finish in the Group 3A State Championships held at Stonehouse Golf Course in Toano on Oct. 10-11.
The Trojans compiled a total score of 660 over the two-day tournament, finishing behind eventual winner Blacksburg (611), runner-up Hidden Valley (614), and third place finisher Riverside (633).
Cole Baldwin paced the Trojans with a score of 154. Robb Kinder (159), Ted Gentile (166), and Kyle Peck (186) occupied the other three scoring spots for New Kent, while Slater Gammon (188) and Jake Richards (196) also participated in the match.
