Bland Contest 2013 021

Harpist Melody Stein (right) placed first, pianist Erin Kylie O’Connell (center) took second, and pianist Wayne Martell (left) finished third in the New Kent County Lions Club’s annual James Bland Music Competition on Feb. 21 at Providence Forge Presbyterian Church. Judges were Rhonda Boggs, Phillip Ramirez, Tom Watson and Sharon Whitman. Chairperson for the club was Mary Edwards. Stein has since placed first at both the region and district levels and is representing the New Kent County Lions Club at the Lions State Convention in Bristol.
