Single car crash claims life of Providence Forge man in Charles City

A Providence Forge man has died as the result of a single vehicle crash Saturday night (Dec. 17) in Charles City.

Kennedy O. Greene, 21, died at the scene of an accident on Route 155 (Courthouse Road) near the intersection of Green Oak Road.

According to Sgt. Steve Vick of the Virginia State Police, shortly after 9 p.m., a 2008 Acura TL was traveling northbound on Route 155 when it ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree. Greene was identified as the driver of the vehicle and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Greene is a 2013 graduate of Charles City High School and played on the school’s football team.

Speed is being considered a factor in the accident.
