New Kent Winery to host half marathon

New Kent Winery is partnering with Sports Backers of Richmond to host its first half marathon. The announcement was made during a Jan. 17 kickoff event at the winery.

The “Uncorked Half” will take place on Saturday, May 6 at New Kent Winery, marking the first time that Sports Backers is partnering with a winery.

“We are very excited to announce the Uncorked Half and to partner with New Kent Winery for this great new event,” said Megan Schultz, event director Sports Backers. “Our goal is to celebrate active lifestyles, and we strive to provide our event participants with authentic and unique experience from start to finish.”

The course will lead runners along hills on the grounds. Wine-themed water stops, a shaded route, and a bucolic, tree-line drive are part of the stage. Participants will also be trated too pampering and well-earned relaxation at the winery.

“New Kent Winery looks forward to hosting the Uncorked Half and all the particpants on race day,” said New Kent Winery owner Joe Dombroski. “We aim to offer classic hospitality with a charming personal touch, and we are confident that this collaboration with Sports Backers will lead to a memorable experience.”
