New Kent Sheriff’s Office ‘Citizens Academy’

New Kent Sheriff’s Office graduated its first class of the Citizens Academy on June 1. Twelve attendees attended two-hour sessions for 10 weeks, receiving information about day-to-day operations, county courts, patrol and investigations, animal control, and more. They also were able to meet with the Sheriff’s Emergency Team, Crisis Negotiations Team, and New Kent’s Victim/Witness Office. Classes were coordinated by Sgt. Brent Thomas.
