Scott graduates from NN Apprentice

Levi Grant Scott, son of Larkin and Dale Scott of Providence Forge, graduated Feb. 23 from the Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School.

He has completed four years of apprenticeship training and 10,000 hours of academic studies and practical application at the Newport News Shipyard. His area was dimension control (metrology).

He graduated as a member of their largest graduating class ever. The apprentice program began in 1919, and since then has graduated 9,000 students. He plans to stay on at the shipyard for the time being.
