Lady Trojans fall in regional semifinals

New Kent’s Lady Trojans did not register a hit against King George’s Taylor Brandt as they fell 1-0 in the regional semifinals at King George.

Despite the lack of offensive power, New Kent remained in a scoreless affair heading into the bottom of the seventh inning.

With a runner on base, King George’s Kari McCullough connected with a blooper to center field. The hosts Shelby King proceeded to home plate, beating the throw by a few inches and winning the game in a walk-off.

New Kent’s Lady Trojans finish their campaign with a 17-6 record.
