New Kent High School will host a fundraiser entitled “Swing for the Arts” at Royal New Kent Golf Course on Sept. 14.

The fundraiser will benefit and provide funds for the visual and performance arts programs in conjunction with the school’s ten-year partnership with Astor College in Kent, England.

The event is the first of fundraisers to continue to grow and bring importance to the aforementioned programs to establish a strong foundation for students who choose to pursue a career pathway in performing arts.

The tournament consists of four-man, captain’s choice format with prizes awarded to the top three teams in each flight. Other events include prizes for longest drive, hole-in-one, and closest to the pin contest.

Entry fee is $300 per foursome or $75 per person. Included in the fee are green/cart fees, goody bag, and a barbecue lunch at the end of the tournament.

Local businesses and sponsors are currently needed for the tournament. Sponsorship levels range from $100-$400, with logo and artwork provided at the hole.

Support from the community is greatly appreciative it and sponsors will be recognized for their contributions.
