Survivor Day is April 21 in Charles City
Central Virginia Emergency Management Alliance (CVEMA) will host its ninth annual Survivor Day on Saturday, April 21, 8 a.m.-12 p.m. at locations in central Virginia, including Charles City.
The event is focused on providing citizens ways to prepare in case of emergencies and disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, and other hazards. Attendees will learn how to survive their home without power for at least 72 hours and what to take with them should they need to leave their home.
Classes in Charles City will be held inside the auditorium of the Government and Administration building.
Registration is required and opened to interested people on a first come, first serve basis. Registered attendees who complete the course will receive a free backpack with survivor kit supplies (limit one per household).
