Letter to the Editor: Enjoyed New Kent fair’s atmosphere

On Saturday Sept. 21, my husband and I attended the featured entertainment at the New Kent County Fair. The American Pride tribute to the Statler Brothers was excellent. The musicians’ voices sounded just like the Statler Brothers. Since the group was so nice, we got to take photos and chat with them. I wish more people had taken the opportunity to go to such a great concert.

Such entertainment should be made available to the public more often. The last time we attended a concert at Colonial Downs, the security allowed the crowd to stand in front of seated patrons, dance in-between lawn chairs, and in general, ruin the pleasure of the entertainment. This was much more family-orientated and enjoyed by all that braved the rain to attend. The foresight of fair organizers to provide a large tent proved to be a game saver.
