Pelton, Burcham claim Jenna Bash 5K

Jason Pelton took first place in the men’s 5K while Jessica Burcham claimed the top spot in the women’s 5K at the Jenna Bash Festival on Aug. 3.

Pelton paced the pack with a time of 20:25 to earn top honors among male competitors. B.J. Robinson took second place with a time 21:01 and Lance South secured his top three spot with a time of 23:05.

Burcham accumulated a time of 24:11 to earn gold among female competitors. Harriet McCoy notched silver with a time of 26:05 and Sheila Bean earned bronze with a time of 27:36.

In the girls’ one mile run, Samantha Burcham was able to outlast a charge from Taylor Bryant to claim the win. Burcham ran the distance in 13:11, outlasting the challenger Bryant who followed shortly behind with a time of 13:20. Shara Ware rounded out the top three with a time of 15:14.

In the boys’ one mile run, Jeremy Ware outdistanced himself from competitors and cruised to victory with a time of 13:40. Edmond Rickett finished in second with a time of 15:39 and Aiden Butler completed the top three with a time of 15:53.
