Helipad named after fallen Virginia State Trooper from New Kent

The family of the late Trooper-Pilot Berke M.M. Bates (center, wife Amanda and their children) attend the dedication ceremony in the naming of a helipad in honor of the officer during an Apr. 21 ceremony in Chesterfield County. Bates, who lived in New Kent, and Lt. H. Jay Cullen III lost their lives while patrolling in Charlottesville on Aug. 12, 2017 after a helicopter crash.
