NK senior heads to national conference

Amanda Ramon, a senior at New Kent High School, has been nominated to attend the Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Washington D.C. on Feb. 14-16, 2014.

The Congress is an honors-only program for high school students who want to become physicians or go into medical research fields. Ramon was nominated by Dr. Connie Mariano, the medical director of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medicals Scientists. Ramon received the recommendation based on her academic achievements, leadership potential, and determination to serve humanity in the field of medicine.

Ramon will join other students from across the country and several guest speakers from the Nobel Laureates and National Medal of Science winners.
