Walizer bridge

Virginia’s Department of Transportation erected a sign on a bridge over Courthouse Creek on Nov. 21 in memorial of fallen Michael C. Walizer. The marker was placed for the fallen Charles City County Sheriff’s Deputy as he was tragically killed in an automobile accident while responding to an emergency call on March 31, 2012. Walizer, who left behind a wife and four children, was the first officer killed in the line of duty for Charles City Sheriff’s Office.
