Passport applications now accepted at Heritage Public Library

Heritage Public Library is now accepting passport applications at its New Kent location by appointment.

Travelers can choose appointments during library open hours, which include evenings and weekends.

“We saw there was a need in our area for a passport acceptance center,” said Heritage Public Library director Chandra McPherson. “Our application to the state department was accepted, staff was trained, and we were able to begin a ‘soft opening’ of this service in July.”

Passport applicants can review the requirements for passports on the library’s website, www.heritagepubliclibrary.org. Appointments are made by calling the library at 966-2480.
