Susan Gwaltney

Susan Gwaltney, 64, of Quinton, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019.

Susan had a soft spot for animals and enjoyed working at God Speed Animal Care/St. Francis Pet Resort and Rehab Center. She loved being outside, fishing with her grandson, and talking on the phone. She truly never met a stranger. Some of her greatest joy came from time spent with her family and watching her grandchildren.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Rita Andrews; a daughter, Brittany Gwaltney; and a sister and brother.

Susan is survived by her daughters, April Riggs and Tracey Uphold (Allen); her grandsons, J.R. and Colton Riggs; three siblings; and her furry companion “Spud.”

The family will receive friends on Friday, Oct. 4, 4-7 p.m. at Providence Forge Recreation Center, 9900 Carriage Road, Providence Forge, Virginia, 23140. A celebration of life service will be held at 5 p.m.
