New Kent Rotary Club offering scholarships

The Rotary Club of New Kent is offering six scholarships to graduating seniors of New Kent High School and Bridging Communities Career and Technical Center.

The organization is offering two $1,500 “Roar and Soar” scholarships to two students who intent to pursue their studies in aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering, or aviation. Two $750 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors of one of Bridging Communities programs, with one designated for automotive studies and one to another area offered by the school. Two $1,0000 memorial scholarships in memory of Thelma Crump will be available to any graduating senior who plans to attend an educational institute for higher learning.

Applications will be awarded based on community service and academic performance. Students may get the application from New Kent High School’s website, located at www.nkhs.newkentschoold.org/students/school_counseling/scholarship_information. Scholarships are due by May 1 and can be emailed to president@newkentrotary.org.
