Letter to the editor: Says generosity is still alive in New Kent

The world news is so disheartening with hatefulness in Syria and Crimea, insanity in Washington D.C., and the egotism in Hollywood. I look to the fine folks of New Kent County when I want my faith in humanity restored.

I am a humane society volunteer and get to see up close how generous people are to homeless animals. Businesses allow holiday pet angel trees in their lobbies. People and civic groups provide funds and supplies. The people who touch my heart the most are the ones who give unused supplies from their recently deceased beloved pets.

So thanks New Kent for showing me how good people are.
