Benjamin Harrison Bridging closing for repairs Dec. 18-21

The Benjamin Harrison Bridge that connects Charles City and Prince George county will be closed this upcoming weekend for a clutch replacement project.

The bridge will close at 12 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 18 and remain closed until Monday, Dec. 21, 6 a.m.

Motorists traveling to the Hampton Roads area are advised to take the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry. Motorist traveling southbound on Route 106/156 towards Hopewell/Prince George are to detour west on Route 5 (John Tyler Memorial Highway) to Interstate 295 Southbound and use exit 15A and travel back eastward. Those traveling from Prince George/Hopewell are to take Route 10 westbound to Interstate 295 North. Motorists are to use exit 22A and travel eastbound to return to Northbound Route 106/156.
