Action at Wilson’s Wharf anniversary will be celebrated June 5-6 in Charles City
The 157th Anniversary of the Action at Wilson’s Wharf in Charles City will take place June 5-6.
The site was the location on May 24, 1864 where the United States Colored Troops defended the fort against an assault by Fitzhugh Lee’s Confederate Cavalry.
Family friendly activities include a tour of the four and Civil War camps, living history, artillery, and cavalry demonstrations, a scavenger hunt, and a battle reenactment.
