Sheriff McLaughlin Citizenship Awards

Three New Kent County students were presented the Sheriff J. Joe McLaughlin Jr. Citizenship Award during ceremonies taken place Monday morning. Above, New Kent Elementary School student Claire Richards poses with her family as the recipient of her school. The awards were sponsored by the Kip Kephart Foundation and each student received a certificate, a check, and their names will be placed on a placard within the school. Below, Marla Johnson of George Watkins Elementary School receives the award as a representative of her school, while at bottom, Rickie Bruzzese presented the qualities of a standout citizen of his learning institution as a pupil at New Kent Middle School.
